Pokerstars purchase Full Tilt???? Empty Pokerstars purchase Full Tilt????

Post by Scorillo 24th April 2012, 11:56 am

A thread created in the 2 +2 is now causing controversy in the online poker community. The user "PS <3FTP" created a topic saying that PokerStars has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Justice Department to purchase the Full Tilt.

He added that all players will have their funds returned and that both sites usually return its operations in the United States.

As he did not cite any source or means of confirming the information, and moreover this is the first user's forum post, in normal situations this topic would be considered a joke and duly ignored, but two most influential figures in the middle gave the benefit information of the doubt.

Initially, the topic has been locked up for being considered a joke, but the moderator NoahSD, well respected in the media as the founder of the former poker blog News Subject: Poker, unlocked the topic to be contacted by their old sources saying it would be worth reopen the topic, what he did.

There is also a message from Mike Haven, administrator of the 2 +2 that was the last meeting between PokerStars and players. Haven said that, though I can not confirm the information because of the confidentiality agreement signed at the meeting, you can say "welcome to a press release be issued in the near future."

If this is really just a joke or is there some truth in this information, it is not possible to know, and should be considered only as a rumor. Keep an eye on Romulus Poker for more information on the subject.

UPDATE: Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chilipoker, said a few minutes on his Twitter: "PokerStars bought the Full Tilt for a considerable amount of U.S. $ 750 million, including agreement with the DOJ and full payment of the players ($ 330 M). I'm impressed . "

UPDATE 2: The site iGaming France posted on twitter that came in contact with Laurent Tapie, the Groupe Bernard Tapie. He did not comment on the matter but said he still will make a statement.

In the following tweet, the iGaming France Tapie said Laurent confirmed that the agreement to purchase FTP from the Department of Justice has not been completed, and insinuated that there was sabotage.

UPDATE 3: The site eGamingReview posted on twitter: "GBT: 'Our efforts to obtain final approval of the DOJ to acquire funds from Full Tilt Poker came to an end without success."

UPDATE 4: Bernard Tapie Group today said it was not successful in negotiating with the DOJ to purchase the Full Tilt.
